Tallis delays hearing

Broncos skipper Gorden Tallis has been granted an extension on his pending contrary conduct charge stemming from last weekend?s defeat at the hands of the red-hot Bulldogs.

Tallis was charged by the video review committee chair for a hit on winger Hazem El Masri early in the second half.

The rampaging backrower will likely fight the charge ? with a two week suspension standing whether he enters an early guilty plea or not.

Should he miss the Tigers clash at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday, Tallis will have plenty of teammates around him to soften the blow.

Darren Lockyer (ribs)r and Shane Webcke (calf) will both miss this Saturday?s match, with former Origin players Brad Meyers and Ben Ikin drafted into the squad.

Corey Parker replaces Webcke in the starting side, with Meyers returning from a week with the Toowoomba Clydesdales to fill the bench.

Shaun Berrigan (shoulder) will monitor his injury this week before deciding on his availability.
