MATCH REVIEW: Lewis & Bird facing time out

12 Apr 2016, 12:00pm: There are no charges from last night's clash between Melbourne and Canterbury.

Cronulla's Luke Lewis has accepted the guilty plea and will miss Sunday's clash with the Raiders, while Greg Bird will head to the judiciary on Wednesday to contest his high tackle charge. If successful he'll be free to play for the Titans against the Dragons on Saturday.

11 Apr 2016, 1:30pm: Two players from yesterday's spiteful Sharks-Titans clash are facing suspension while several others charged across Round 6 will escape sanction.

Luke Lewis has been issued with a Grade 1 Shoulder Charge which will see him miss Cronulla's seventh-round match against Canberra - he'll miss Round 8 as well if he contests the charge unsuccessfully.

Greg Bird meanwhile has been hit with a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle which took out opposition five-eighth James Maloney. He'll miss one match regardless of his plea.

Gareth Widdop (Dragons, tripping), Shaun Fensom (Raiders, dangerous throw), Joe Tapine (Raiders, dangerous throw) and Dylan Walker (Sea Eagles, tripping) all had Grade 1 offences and therefore won't miss any game time with an early guilty plea.
